Cottage Riimantupa details

Riimantupa is the side part of an old threshing building from the 19th century.

Downstairs

• Open kitchen/living room.
• Kitchen equipment, coffee maker, kettle, microwave, dining table and an old time cupboard.
• Bedroom: two beds (2 persons).
• WC/shower.

Middle floor

• Table, chairs, a large bookshelf.
• Two beds in an open space (2 persons).

Loft

• Three beds on mattresses (3 persons).

Verandah

• Two tables, chairs and a sofa.

Riimantupa grounds

A garden table, chairs and a swing next to a small picturesque storage shed. Barbecue.

Sauna Mäntyäikkä

In the vicinity of Riihi, the threshing building, there is a very old sauna moved from Äikkälä. It was supplemented with logs from the original sauna of Mäntylä, a few kilometers away, hence the name! In this spacious sauna, there is both a regular wood sauna stove and a smoke sauna stove. The luminous verandah of Mäntyäikkä serves as a dressing room and lounge.

Tervastanhua and sauna

Tervastanhua is the beach area of Riimantupa. You go there along Peltopolku, then turn right onto Niittytarhantie, from where you continue along Tervastanhuantie to the Tervastanhua sauna (450 m). It can also be reached by car, but we highly recommend walking there.

Tervastanhua has a separate chamber for changing. It is possible to sleep (alternatively) in the bunk bed of this small sauna chamber (for 2 persons). However, the maximum accommodation capacity of Riimantupa is 7 persons, due to the limited Riimantupa kitchen facilities. If necessary, however, additional persons are allowed for an additional fee.

On Tervastanhua grounds there is also a garden swing, a small table, chairs, barbecue, jetty and a woodshed/toilet. For small children, Polskepaikka with a sandy beach is suitable. It is next to Tervastanhua and very rarely used by the residents of the farm.
